Jeanae has always been involved in high-performance sports since attending school in the United Kingdom, where she was awarded a squash scholarship. Afterward, she relocated to Cape Town with her family and attended the University of Cape Town, where she graduated with Honours in Social Science. She’s always lived her life actively and taken part in a multitude of sports, including dancing, running full and half marathons, gym training, boxing, and competitive squash.
While a passion for movement has existed within Jeanae from an early age, yoga had never crossed her radar until one day, in the middle of Paris in 2013, a profound feeling and curiosity came over her, inviting her to investigate yoga. Upon returning home to Cape Town, she found herself in a yoga studio and has never looked back. 12 months later she taught her first yoga class, and since then, she has rapidly transformed as an instructor. This change has been replicated in how she thinks, how she moves, and the language she uses in her daily life, as well as the role she plays in raising her son. Her belief is that teaching yoga is primarily focused on touching her students' lives, in the same way that her life has been touched and improved. Jeanae brings her entire self to every session and places her focus on allowing participants to be free and to connect to their bodies, releasing stress and creating an emotional connection to themselves. Jeanae has embarked on training in multiple styles of yoga and has embellished the ethos that a variety of styles provide for a diverse offering and teaching practice. She is passionate about transforming lives with a strong belief in dedication, commitment, and positivity that ultimately uses movement for good. Ryan has lived his life through movement, most notably as a local and international professional football player. From the age of 18, Ryan played in multiple Premier League teams in South Africa, the UK, Finland, and Turkey. His career highlights include winning player of the month in the Finnish Premier League, playing six UEFA cup games, and winning goal of the season in the South African Premier League. Ryan has also worked as a photographic model, appearing on multiple Men’s Health covers and in numerous other mainstream magazines. He has subsequently run and managed his own gym, PointBreak, which has operated successfully for the last six years.
Ryan’s movement story comes with some dark chapters, the first of which was during his professional football career when he endured a potentially career-ending knee injury at 23 years old during his time playing in the Turkish Premier League. He blew out his posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during training and four weeks later his knee gave out entirely during a match in Istanbul. Up until then, Ryan had relied on his raw talent and natural strength which had carried him through most injuries, but this one proved to be the tipping point. He went into a deep depression and his parents advised him to either stop playing and start studying or to get back onto the field and address his body issues with more care. And so his fitness journey began. He slowly built up his physio and mobility, while paying attention to his eating and overall diet. Ryan wasn’t the player he used to be, but through applying the correct level of movement and care, he was able to play for another eight years professionally, which was a victory in itself. Another victory emerged for Ryan, which rapidly became his new passion – the love for health and fitness, which transformed his career and took him in a new direction – Ryan the gym owner. Together with a partner, Ryan launched PointBreak gym in Cape Town, which ran successfully for six years and catered for a host of clientele by offering a range of training options. Ryan’s story of movement runs deep and he’s seen the benefits of hard work and consistency. As a trainer he brings passion, commitment and hard work, with no short cuts – he is the ultimate movement warrior.
Maegan discovered her passion for health and fitness as a high school athlete specializing in high jump and javelin. After studying in the field, she started working as a personal trainer to help others become healthier versions of themselves. An opportunity arose to work abroad on cruise ships as a personal trainer, and it turned out to be the beginning of an amazing adventure, connecting and training people from all over the world. Now back home, she's applying her experience and knowledge to advance her career as a personal trainer and a lifestyle coach.
After working as a personal trainer on cruise ships for three years, focusing on the well-being of others across the world, Maegan has returned home to focus on her community. Health and fitness has always been her passion, and now that she's found a movement suited to her skills, motivation, and determination, she's more excited than ever to train an even bigger online audience.
Kirsten is an Exercise Science Specialist, with a five-year professional career as a ballerina and contemporary dancer in both the U.S.A. (Texas Ballet Theater) and Cape Town (Cape Town City Ballet). From a young age, she represented South Africa internationally as both a dancer and rhythmic gymnast. She grew up in a family where movement was one of the biggest parts of daily life and not much thought went into staying fit thanks to her natural love for being active. After dancing for years with scoliosis (curvature of the spine), Kirsten decided to end her career by listening to her body and stepping back from the ballet stage. This took her in a new direction on her fitness journey after studying Exercise Science and Sports Massage, which is now her passion and full-time career. Kirsten is a huge advocate of movement, having spent most of her life expressing herself through the art of dance movement, and she continually applies this by maintaining the level of strength, flexibility, power, and endurance that she developed while dancing. During the course of 2019, she also started to explore the benefits of a plant-based diet and hasn't looked back since. She is a passionate ambassador for helping people develop a healthy and sustainable lifestyle that applies intention to every aspect of one's life.
Kirsten strongly believes that you’ll never change your life until you change something you do every day. Moving your body daily is a form of self-love and an investment in your health. After all, being healthy is your body’s retirement annuity. This couldn't be more true for Kirsten, as she was told that ballet saved her back. This has given her so much gratitude that, from a young age, she has been strengthening the muscles supporting her spine. Movement literally saved her body!
